Glenn Johnson and Phoebe Craig Johnson are the resident experts, responsible for turning out consistently well-prepared and successful riders. Switch Willo is proud to be the home of numerous year end award winners at the local, state, and national level.

Phoebe Johnson won numerous championships and year end awards statewide during her years of riding competitively, and was rewarded by being an alternate for the United States Equestrian Team in 1969. Since retiring from competitive riding in 1972, Phoebe has attended numerous clinics to make sure her students learn from the best. Glenn and Phoebe married in 1973.  After Phoebe retired from riding, Glenn and Phoebe forged a powerful team where Glenn rode and showed horses and Phoebe trained from the ground, using her experience and insightful eye to help develop many top horses. Glenn taught most boarder lessons and Phoebe managed the barn and performed duties such as overseeing the health and well-being of the lesson and boarded horses. She still manages the many operations needed to run such a large facility such as dealing with vendors, managing the staff and grounds and handling billing, board and lesson policies. Anyone who knows Phoebe understands her deep compassion for animals, and that she strives to keep every horse healthy.

Glenn Johnson began his career at Switch Willo Stables in 1968. Among the many highlights of his career are having been written up in Sports Illustrated for his numerous wins aboard Cricket in Puissance (high jump) classes, where they cleared 7' or just under many times; being an alternate for the United States Equestrian Team for the Pan American Games in 1973; and his two years with Simple Simon, where their record of being champion at virtually every show they attended led to a reserve national title, and championships at the year end indoor shows at Harrisburg, Washington D.C., and Madison Square Garden. Currently Glenn shares training duties and boarder schooling with his staff. He also uses his many professional relationships to find top horses throughout the country for his clients.
