Board: $595.00 (plus initial deposit)

Price includes stall, shavings, feed, hay & alfalfa, blanketing*, turnout, and two weekly group lessons**. Horses in night turn-out will not be brought in after 10:00pm due to unforeseen weather changes. In the unlikely event that a horse damages property of Switch Willo Stables, costs will be charged to the owner in the monthly board bill.

 

Non Showing Fee: $120.00

There will be an additional $120.00 per month charged for those months where a horse show does not appear on your bill. A CENTEX show counts as one show; an “A” or “AA” show counts as two shows.

Extras (per month unless otherwise noted):

1. Fan $30.00
2. Extra hay or alfalfa: $50.00
3. Hay surcharge when necessary: $20.00
4. Electrolytes during warm weather months (unless included in supplemental packages purchased by owner): $12.00
5. Tack up or daily grooming: $10.00/per day
6. Blanketing - pro-rated per month based on the number of days horses were blanketed after 5:00pm and on Sundays.
7. Supplements, while not included in the cost of board, may be purchased by owners and included in the daily feeding program for the horse.
8. Board payments are due by the 15th of each month, or a late fee of $35.00 will be assessed. A deposit equal to 1 month of board is due prior to boarding a horse at Switch Willo stables. This deposit will be considered your last month's board upon receiving 30 days written notice. Notice MUST be received NO LATER than the first of the month prior to leaving Switch Willo Stables.

** Lessons:

8 Group lessons are included with board.  After the initial 8 lessons have been used, the additional per lesson cost will be $30.00.

Private Lesson:                                              $50.00 per lesson

Use of a Switch Willo horse for a lesson:      $30.00

Services:

1. Body clipping:          $125.00
2. Face/ear clipping:      $20.00

5. Hauling:
   1. To Elgin Veterinary Clinic: $125.00 ($175.00 after 5:00pm)
   2. To Austin shows: $100.00
   3. To out of town shows: $1.00 per mile
   4. Show Expenses:
      1. Schooling & Day Care at "A" rated shows and one day "CENTEX" shows: $75.00 per day
      2. Schooling & Day Care at two or three day CENTEX shows: $50.00 per day
      3. Grooming and tack stalls (will be divided between the owners by the show office)
      4. Professional Show Rides: $35.00 per class
      5. Laundry: wrapping/unwrapping; washing/rolling bandages; towels; polo wraps; girth/girth covers; curtains; saddle pads: $25.00 per show
      6. Set-up Fee (tack curtains; wheelbarrows; pitch forks; brooms; extension cords; snaps & hooks; cross-ties; floor mats; brushes; cable ties; shampoo; hoof dressing; hoses; crates; saddle & bridle racks; staple gun & staples; and all other tools necessary for set-up: $25.00 per show
      7. Golf cart (split between the number of owners attending the show): $200.00 per show
      8. Additional show expenses:
         1. Prior to trainers & horses leaving for shows, owners must provide expense money (cash or check) Prorated by # of owners attending show to cover the cost of lodging, meals, & gas for attending Switch Willo employees. Owners must also provide a fan and three buckets (2 for water and 1 for feed).
         2. Cancellation terms:
            1. i.    Less than 3 days prior to a CENTEX show will result in paying in full the prorated expenses. There will be a late fee assessed if signing up for a CENTEX show occurs less than 3 days before event.
            2. ii.    Less then 7 days prior to an out of town show (A, AA, or B) will result in paying in full the prorated expenses. If the show attended is a two week show notification must be made 7 days PRIOR to the start of the FIRST show whether or not you are attending the first show.

 

Medications:

 

1. Acepromazine (Ace):                    $15.00

4. Phenylbutazone (Bute) injection:  $15.00
5. Dexamethasone (Dex):                   $15.00
6. Penicillin:                                       $10.00

Prices of medications are subject to change in the event of a price increase by the manufacturer.

1. A fee for vet services provided by a Switch Willo employee such as cleaning & wrapping a wound, swollen legs, medicated baths, cuts, soaking feet or eye medicine will be assessed according to amount of medicine, supplies and labor incurred.
2. Prorate time to hold horse for vet while being wormed, receiving shots, having teeth worked on, etc: $25.00 per hour

Purchase of Horses:

When you are in the market for a horse, Phoebe, Glenn, and Kirk will research the proper horse for your needs or for that of your child. Please do not purchase a horse without prior consultation with your trainers. Doing so could jeopardize your safety or that of your child if you pick a horse that is inappropriate for your/their needs. A suitable horse for you within the price range that you specify will be located. Please be aware of the following.

 

1. You are responsible for the cost of hauling the horse to Switch Willo and its return if not purchased.
2. Board will be prorated based on the number of days the horse is at Switch Willo.
3. You will be responsible for all costs incurred while at Switch Willo such as shoeing, professional rides, or medical needs. Please discuss having insurance to cover medical needs and lose of use or mortality with us.
4. A minimum 15% commission applies and is payable at the time of purchase or sale of your horse. Further details may be provided upon request.
